elyse tripp HEINO, psy.d.
Dr. Elyse Tripp Heino is a postdoctoral fellow at Long Island Behavioral. She earned her Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from the APA-accredited program at Long Island University Post and completed her APA-accredited internship at the Brooklyn VA Medical Center, where she worked with veterans and their families.
She works collaboratively with parents, schools, and other professionals to optimize treatment and support each client's success across settings. Dr. Tripp provides research-supported interventions for anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), school refusal, selective mutism, behavioral challenges, emotional regulation difficulties, and ADHD, among others.
Known for her warm, collaborative, and engaging style, Dr. Tripp tailors treatment to each individual's strengths and needs while remaining grounded in evidence-based care. Her goal is to help clients and families feel empowered with practical tools they can use long after therapy ends.
She specializes in:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, including Exposure and Response Prevention, for anxiety, OCD, Selective Mutism, and related disorders in children, teens, and adults
Evidence based treatments for ADHD, behavioral challenges, and school refusal in children
Parenting, including helping parents work on their child’s anxiety (SPACE treatment), and behavior problems (Behavioral Parent Training, including PCIT)
